A taser is scarce because of its cooldown. Spend it only when the bear in front of you is one of the variants it actually drops.
A short field key
- Ordinary polar bear on the outer map, distorted roar: Regular Bear. Taser, roof, or a tree to break sight. If you used the phone item, it will not calm down until it gets a kill.
- Huge biped at night near the Statue: Tall Bear, also called Big Bear. Coil, then a door it cannot fit through. Taser works in the open.
- Huge bear that still catches a coil, without a Statue pin: Papa Bear in the notes that use that name. Taser, then cover. It was not explicitly called the Tall Bear.
- Lanky and still, then a charge: Skinny Bear or Slim Bear. Back off before it moves. A soda is the recorded speed help. A taser result for this name was not written down.
- Small, climbs vehicles, flings you: Tiny Bear, also called Daffy in one list. Taser works. Boo-Boo is the cub description and the lore name for small specimens. They may be related. They were not merged.
- Ground explodes under you: Burrowing Bear, 300 HP, from Revenge of the S.T.A.R. Taser result unconfirmed.
- A rolling sphere: Ball Bear, 40 damage on contact, Spin Launch fling. Get inside a shop door and shoot. A short list said this bear burrows and throws balls. The longer encounter notes do not. The burrow stays on the Burrowing Bear.
- Kneeling at night with a robotic roar and a knife: Knife Bear. It is faster than you once it stands. One roundup called this name an unconfirmed concept. The behavior notes are detailed enough to plan for it anyway.
- A floating head in a cave: Ghost Bear. It noclips, the tracker is blind, and the taser fails. Sprint on a full bar.
- Chained humanoid in the maze only: Maze Bear. Locker. Taser fails.
- A wheel and gun arms during Bear Invasion: Grinder Bear. See the weapons guide.
Spike Bear, Worm Bear, and Queso Bear are named, and only Spike Bear has a combat note: pistol tests dropped it quickly. Do not invent a taser result for the other two.
Ice Bear, Robot Bear, and similar forum suggestions were explicitly not confirmed as spawns. They are not in the bear list.
Player morphs are a different problem. Hypersonic Boo Boo, Cutie Bear, a purchased Grinder, and a mushroom-transformed player can all be hostile people. Honey makes wild bears eat. It is not described as a way to calm a player bear.
